An Update on Honeymooning!

Okay, wow.  I haven't been on here since September 20th.  That is no bueno.  I'm full of broken promises, but I truly have the best of intentions in wanting to update my blog!  My sincerest apologies to my reader(s). :)

Now for the good stuff!  You may remember a post I did titled "Honeymooning, Anyone?" where I was enlisting your help for honeymoon ideas and locations.  Snow and cold or sand and hot?  Well I am happy to report that as of YESTERDAY Jeff and I have official honeymoon plans!  And....we chose snow and cold!

We are going to Jackson Hole, Wyoming and we couldn't be more excited!  After booking the trip yesterday, the reality hit and I was jumping around, giddy with excitement!  Jeff was very excited himself, but he shows it in different ways rather than jumping around! :)  We couldn't stop talking about it all day - we are PUMPED about our first major trip together!

We've only gone so far as booking our hotel arrangements and discussing our activities for the honeymoon - but in my mind, we're there!  Jeff will be buying the plane tickets this week (Tuesday to be exact...we were hoping for some better deals....fingers crossed)!

We were having a rough time finding places to stay in Jackson Hole that we were really excited about.  Jeff mentioned to me right as I was about to give up that he thought I'd be happier staying in the city, where the "fun restaurants and cute shops" were.  It pleases me so to know that my future hubs knows me so well.  I hadn't even thought about that, and he was exactly right.  Through his research, he found out that there are 3 distinct places/areas in what we know as "Jackson Hole": The Town of Jackson, Teton Village, or in between the town and village.  Each option has it's own perks and benefits, depending on what you're wanting.  The website he gathered that information from also had a phone number listed for Jackson Hole Central Reservations where they would help us figure out the best option based on our preferences.  We decided to call that number to get more help, advice, and direction in what the best place for us would be.  The girl we spoke with was so incredibly helpful and gave us great information, including the hotel we decided to stay at!  Once she found out we were honeymooners, she gave us 3 different options that were really popular with the honeymooners where it was more private and exclusive.  Who knew so many people honeymooned in Jackson Hole?  I thought we were the only ones! We finally made our decision, made our reservation - and here we are!

I am so excited about the boutique hotel we're staying in!  It's called the White Buffalo Club and it's in the Town of Jackson (downtown Jackson). We got a great suite with a fireplace in both the room and balcony!

Once we had made our decision that we wanted a cold honeymoon destination a few months ago, the activities of what I wanted to do kept flying through my head!  Jeff knew he wanted to ski, and I knew I didn't want skiing to be the focal point of our honeymoon.  I didn't want a "ski trip" honeymoon.  Once we found out we could be gone for longer than just a few days, I okayed the skiing as long as we were there for a decent amount of time.  The problem with skiing is that this will be Jeff's first time.  The poor guy doesn't know what he's in for.  He's going to be sore, frustrated, and certainly not going to want to be touched after a hard day of skiing!  Not my idea of a honeymoon if you ask me.  I wanted to be sure the word "relaxing" was still incorporated.  However, I know it will be so fun, we will laugh a lot, and I'll have enough time to get my relaxation and other activities on!  Couldn't be more excited!!

Activities we plan on doing:
Skiing
Sleigh Ride
Spa Day
Snowmobiling
Snowshoeing
Dog Sledding
National Park Tour (Yellowstone Safari!)
Snow Tubing
Sightseeing
And I'm sure the list will continue....!

I am so excited to have an update on this situation and I'm just ready to honeymoon.  I am so thankful that everything worked out and so thrilled that we get to go on a honeymoon!  Thanks to the Navy for letting Jeff off for both the wedding and honeymoon!!

Also, I have a funny "Annie-ism" that lead up to this final honeymoon decision and I'll blog about it tomorrow or later this week (I promise)!  I know you will get a chuckle out of it!
