Clearly seeing as I'm in full on bridal mode...the honeymoon after party has been on my mind...a.lot. Let's just say I wouldn't mind skipping over the whole "planning" part and just showing up on my wedding day ready to be wed instead. I'm also beyond thrilled about the idea of relaxing in the lap of luxury while vacationing with my new HUBS!! Honestly, the honeymoon was on my mind well before the thought of "wedding dresses" and "bridal colors" were. :)
The sad part is, I've been stumped on where to go. There are so many amazing and wonderful places out there to visit, travel to, and explore and so many of these are on my wish-list. However, I think when I'm presented with a situation that has "unlimited options" I freeze. It's something I've learned about myself recently.
Jeff and I have casually talked about our honeymoon on a few occasions, but as for now, it hasn't been top priority. I think it's something we're both trying to avoid for now #1 because we don't know where we want to go and #2 because we're scared it may not happen. Welcome to the military peeps! :) Here I am planning our wedding around the military in hopes that we have "control" and that we'll get a honeymoon, and it's possible it won't happen. We'll just have to see. Anyways, I threw out African safari, we've both discussed Australia, and I think we've pretty much axed the idea of Mexico (I really don't want to get involved with the Mexican drug cartel, no thanks)...but then there's so many other places too!!
We also don't even know what type of honeymoon we want - do we want beach or snow? Hot or cold? We're getting married in the winter (December) so we have good options for either. Since I haven't really been on the fast road to the "LGN" body (look good naked) a part of me shivers at the idea of being in a swimsuit. Sorry folks but you most likely won't see me posing on my honeymoon in my skimpy bikini with my perfect body (who does that anyway?). But the other part of me doesn't want to be restricted over something as silly as that. So that's why I need your professional help and expertise!
.....................................................................................................
I need your help with honeymoon ideas! Let me know where you honeymooned, or where your friends honeymooned, or where you WISH you honeymooned! There are no limitations and no restrictions. Clearly we're open minded and we need all the help we can get!
Snow & cold....
*Montana
or sand and hot??
*Tahiti

Well I won't be much help because we went to Mexico, BUT if I was getting married in December, I would totally go to a cabin in the woods or something in the mountains!
ReplyDeleteI would think it would be nice to have a little break from the cold & go somewhere hot! We went to St. Barths & it was amazing! Wherever you chose to go, it will be so special and amazing because it's your first week as Mr. and Mrs. Gruetzmacher!!
ReplyDeleteDrew and I honeymooned in Nassau, Bahamas and we LOVED it! There was so much to do, see, and of course relax in the sun! :) Gina and Brian just got back from Maui and if I were to do it over again, I'd think about going there. I know they had an amazing time! Goodluck. Wherever you do choose to go, you probably won't regret it!
ReplyDeleteI say go cold!!! We live in Texas. And you now live in San Diego. Not exactly the coldest places with white fluffy snow! I think it can be SO romantic to have a cabin near the slopes, ski during the day, snuggle by a fire at night! :)
