I've Been Living In A Cave.

So, I've been living in a cave. I just got DVR for the first time....and it is *magic*! I think I can spare you all the details of it's fabulosity because I can only assume that I'm the last person in the world to have gotten it. (When I tell people I just now got it, they look at me in horror).

So out here in Cali, it's kind of funny because we don't really have the delightful option and choice of which cable company we are going to choose. Oh no, no no. It is chosen for us, based on where we live. I don't know the history and drama of it all, but I like to think of it like this: One cable company (Cox) and the other cable company (Time Warner) were in competition (naturally). Something happened, they both flexed their muscles, and made it miserable for everybody because they no longer gave us a choice.

I'm just going to say this one thing: I'm not complaining, but I have Time Warner and wish I had Cox. There, I said it. To be honest with you, this is how bad it's gotten....I've found myself driving around thinking of where I want to live next, and I realize that I am basing that decision off of which parts of town have Cox. Oopsies!

Regardless, Time Warner has still been the sole provider of my DVR experience and for that, I am thankful. So, when the cable guy came out here to install it, I had him show me around and get me acquainted with how to use it. He was talking about how much memory and storage space it has and how there's no way I'll be able to fill it up. He said he has never filled it up more than 40%....well...guess what? As of this morning, I was at 93% (insert shocked face here). And I've probably had the cable for a month, if not, a tad bit longer. I know. How can it be?? You see, that's the problem with DVR. I am now recording shows I never watched, because I can. What's really funny is that last weekend, Jeff was over and he was watching sports (of course) which means he was going through the television and somehow or another stumbled upon my 88% full DVR. Sweet little internalizer Jeffrey sits there and doesn't say anything, until a few days later when it's just that perfect moment for him to bring it up and tease me about it. And now, to think that he's about to see that it's even worse than 88%?? Oh geez.

And, on an unrelated note: If you don't watch Parenthood, you should. Even though Season 2 is almost over, it's not too late. Netflix it, rent it, buy it....you will not be disappointed. I think it's a show that even the men out there would like. Che che check it out - it just keeps getting better!
